Back to EventsThe American Advertising Federation - Inland Empire chapter (AAF-IE) is an not-for-profit organization. None of the members including members of the Board and committee members receive any compensation. Instead we work together to help our local members and students learn more about the marketing and advertising trade. At the same time we work with the national organization on matters of legislation to help promote and protect our trade.
Annual Member Registration Fee
To become a member we have a very modest annual member registration fee which provides numerous trade and service discounts.
Membership provides discounts to monthly programs, special events and of course ADDYS. Learn more about becoming a

Your annual member registration helps defray the investment incurred by the club to locate and obtain speakers for monthly events, secure venues, prepare for and host the ADDYS and so forth. Since we are utilizing membership fees as part of our annual planning, we don't refund member registration fees.
Event Fees
Generally once a month the AAF-IE holds a monthly luncheon at a local restaurant. Every few months we hold a special event
such as a mixer that is hosted in the evening or perhaps hold a group event with another AAF chapter or other local
organization.
In all situations the AAF-IE has to plan the event, secure the venue, estimate the number of attendees and develop a fee for the event. Since we are a non-profit organization, the fees are designed to defray the cost of the event with the goal to break even or make a little bit for a rainy day.
In the past we did not require pre-paid registration for our events. Unfortunately this practice has hurt the chapter. It turns out that on a monthly basis 5-10% of the people that register for an event, actually do not show up for the event. As professionals with day jobs, we realize stuff happens. Nonetheless, the AAF-IE pays for meals, venues, travel costs for speaker and other costs whether people show for events or not.
Instead of trying to factor "no shows" into our event fees, we have adopted a policy of no refunds for events. Since our events are as low as $5, we don't think people will mind.
