'Surviving as a Freelancer' Topic of Ad Club Workshop Apr.12 in Riverside
(Ontario, CA) 'How to Survive As A Freelancer' is the topic of a luncheon workshop sponsored by the local chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) on Thursday, April 9 at The Old Spaghetti Factory in Riverside.
John McCarthy, chair of the AAF programs committee, said that the workshop applies to free lancers who work in marketing, advertising, photography, web design, graphic design and public relaitons. "This is an opportunity to learn from professionals about networking and inside tips on how to land freelance jobs in this economy."
McCarthy said that the luncheon will feature three panelists: Hank Blank, principal of Hank Blank, Inc., who will lead the discussion and Peter Quill, Chief Strategy Officer of Motor Creative Marketing who will discuss how freelancers should work and coordinate with agencies. The third panelist, Theresa Mesa, president of Mesa Design House and a past president of the Inland Empire chapter of AAF, will discuss taxes and record keeping for freelancers.
The luncheon begins at 11:30AM and will end at 1:30PM. Registration for AAF and student members is $5, while CICAMA members and the public are welcome for $10.
